Fort Worth, TX Baseball Uniforms From Shirt.Co: What is Sublimation?
We bank on sublimated logos and designs on our baseball uniforms that won’t fade, peel, or crack on breathable, flexible, and moisture-wicking material. No matter the Fort Worth, TX temperature or environmental situations. Sublimation printing, also called “all over printing” as it lets you utilize a design or logo that spans from seam to seam, uses heat to basically meld fabric and ink together as one. Initially, your design or logo is printed on our special paper. The inks turn into gas when heated, then combine with the fabric. The high temperature opens the pores of the fabric and then, with the applied weight, the ink cools and returns to a solid form. The sublimation procedure is akin to a tattoo, obviously exchanging baseball jerseys for your skin.
This technique is perfect for our custom baseball uniforms in Fort Worth, TX, which are lighter and softer than some competitors’ jerseys, because the fabric remains smooth due to the printing melding with the fabric, as opposed to feeling the dried, prickly ink on your skin on “those other jerseys”. There’s nothing worse than standing out in the field with the sun beating down on you amidst a Fort Worth, TX summer scorcher, replete with a 113 heat index, only to feel the displeasure of ink melting to your skin. That’s embarrassing, especially seeing as baseball uniforms are costly. We can hope, for your sake, those inquisitive eyes in the front row didn’t see that.
You and your Fort Worth, TX team, to say nothing of your conspicuous, dedicated fan(s), warrant better. Give us a call today at 636-926-2777 or reach out to us online for a quote.
Fort Worth, TX Baseball Uniforms: A Brief History
Oh, how far baseball uniforms have come. When they first started, back in 1849, baseball uniforms were made of wool pants, white flannel shirts, and straw hats. Seems great for one of those Fort Worth, TX hot summer days, right? By 1882, uniforms were based on position instead of team. Every first baseman, for example, wore the same scarlet-and-white-striped shirt and bowtie, no matter which side of the field they were on. This idea didn’t quite take off brilliantly, surviving only a season before being referred to as clown costumes and being tossed.
In the late 1920s, numbers were introduced to the back of major league baseball uniforms. It took another couple of decades for the digits to be put on the front, too. Batting helmets weren’t introduced until 1939, but were not required until 1971. Wool uniforms and caps, or at least wool blends, were utilized until 2007. Along the way, there were many alterations and adaptations. The Chicago White Sox, at the behest of quirky owner Bill Veeck, donned Bermuda shorts in 1976. The Philadelphia Phillies rocked zippers on their jerseys in 1979. And the list goes on. And on.
