We take great pride in providing the best styles and the fastest turnaround times on all orders. Are you and your team more traditional or are you more modern? Do you prefer a sleek, crisp style or a loose, laidback-and-baggy setup? In addition to polyester, or a cotton-poly blend, uniform fabrics can include:
- Dyna Dry — This performance fabric is a flat-backed mock mesh that does a great job in wicking away moisture on baseball uniforms. 100 percent polyester.
- Flex Dry — This fabric offers a two-way stretch that’s lightweight and breathable. It also provides moisture management. 90% polyester, 10% spandex.
- DryTec — As a microfiber option, DryTec is a lightweight and pique moisture wicking fabric. It has a smooth, flat face without texture. 100% polyester.
- Durafiber — Want a heavyweight material for your team? Choose the double knit Durafiber. This fabric is incredibly durable, yet breathable, and will effectively wick away moisture. 100% polyester.
- Aerofiber — Aerofiber uses advanced methods in its lightweight fabric makeup. It’s designed with open pinhole mesh, making it stretchy and breathable. 90% polyester, 10% spandex.
Whether it is a vintage, V-neck pullover, ala the Houston Astros, or a contemporary, reversible raglan-sleeved top, our custom baseball uniforms keep you and your team at the top of your game. Baseball pant styles include pinstripe, piped, or solid styles, in power open bottom or knicker pants, also called knee breeches, to show off their stirrups. Baseball Uniforms From Shirt.Co: What is Sublimation?
We rely on sublimated designs and logos on our baseball uniforms that will never crack, peel, or fade on breathable, flexible, and moisture-wicking material. Sublimation printing, also called “all over printing” as it allows you to utilize a design or logo that goes from seam to seam, uses heat to essentially bring ink and fabric together as one. To begin, your design or logo is printed on our special paper. The inks turn into gas when heated, then combine with the fabric. The heat opens the pores of the fabric then, with the applied pressure, the ink cools and returns to a solid form.
This method is ideal for our custom baseball uniforms in St. Louis, which are lighter and more comfortable than some competitors’ jerseys, because the fabric remains smooth due to the printing melding with the fabric, as opposed to feeling the dried ink on your skin on those competitors’ jerseys. There’s nothing worse than standing out in the field with the sun beating down on you amidst a St. Louis summer scorcher, replete with a 113 heat index, only to feel ink sticking to your skin. That’s embarrassing. Hopefully, those prying eyes in the front row didn’t see that.
You and your team, not to mention your front-and-center, devoted fan(s), deserve better. Give us a call today at 636-926-2777 or contact us online.
Baseball Uniforms: A Brief History
Oh, how far baseball uniforms have come. When they first began, back in 1849, baseball uniforms were made of wool pants, white flannel shirts, and straw hats. Sounds great for one of those St. Louis hot summer days, eh? By 1882, uniforms were based on position rather than team. Every first baseman, for instance, wore the same scarlet-and-white-striped shirt and bowtie, no matter which team they were on. This idea didn’t quite take off brilliantly, lasting only a season before being referred to as clown costumes and being ditched.
In the late 1920s, numbers were introduced to the back of major league baseball uniforms. It took another 20-plus years for numbers to be added to the front, too. Batting helmets weren’t introduced until 1939, and were not required until 1971. Wool uniforms and caps, or at least wool blends, were used until 2007. Along the way, there were many alterations and adaptations. The Chicago White Sox, at the behest of unique owner Bill Veeck, donned Bermuda shorts in 1976. The Philadelphia Phillies rocked zippers on their jerseys in 1979. And the list goes on. And on.
